Sapa is an incredibly beautiful mountainous town in the northwest of Vietnam. Sapa is famous for its breathtaking scenery of the mountainous valleys and rice terrace fields as well as the colorful and vibrant culture of tribal minorities. Located at 1500 meters above sea level, Sapa benefits a clement climate throughout the year. Sapa lies in the Hoang Lien Son mountain range near the Chinese border, known as "the Tonkinese Alps" with the highest peak in Indochina - Fansipan.

With all that to offer, Sapa is a hotspot to plan your trekking trip at various difficulty levels. It could be an easy trekking in the afternoon or a multi-day trekking trip through different villages, or even more, a mountain climbing trip to Fansipan - the peak of the Tonkinese Alps. From Hanoi, you can travel to Sapa by private car, train, and bus after around 6 hours of driving per way.
